Now, what do you have to do if you want to play games on a computer but don’t want to build the system yourself? Well, you buy a computer that is assembled for you! SkyTech Omega is such a player rig with Nvidia’s latest graphics card and a true byte crunching processor. Below is my professional opinion about the desktop…

Does it run all games great?

A new graphics card, the Nvidia GTX 1060 (6GB video RAM) is installed in SkyTech Omega. Now it’s quite a new engine, yet there already exists some benchmarks that show how fast it is. Indeed, the GTX 1060 does better job than GTX 970 but not quite as good as GTX 980. Anyway, it works for Full HD gaming and beyond, for example 2560×1440 resolution and high/ultra settings on modern games will give +50 FPS (like Doom 3 and GTA 5).

General performance

Don’t worry, this computer doesn’t have a slow storage drive only. True, there is a 2TB 7200RPM hard drive, but in addition a 240GB SSD too – which is damn fast for sure. Of course you can replace both drives if you want, but I think the default setting suits gamers and power users well.

Intel Core i7-6700K is the name of the processor here. It is a real heavyweight unit, easily beating most other chips (CPU Mark score a whopping 11000). Clock speed is high 4.0GHz and it’s even increased bit, to 4.2GHz, with turbo boost. And when you throw in memory which is 16GB of the new and fast DDR4 type, certainly no software will put this computer on its knees!

What ports and connections does it include?

SkyTech Omega comes with six USB ports (four USB 3.0, two USB 3.0) which should accommodate all your device and peripheral needs. Also video outputs are plenty as there is one DVI, one HDMI-out and three DisplayPort connectors available.

Many people have asked if there is DVD drive in this unit. Well, there is not, and one doesn’t even fit inside because of special design. You need to use an external optical drive if you want to use discs.

The desktop has WiFi card in addition to RJ-45 port. Bluetooth isn’t however supported.

Other things to keep in mind

There is no monitor shipped with SkyTech Omega! You need to buy one yourself, remember that. But a good thing, keyboard and mouse are included.

Operating system is the most common one, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

SkyTech Omega is a proper gaming desktop for people who want a plug and play model (with the need to obtain monitor, of course). You will find the GeForce GTX 1060 card surprisingly fast; any game you’ll be playing will get frame rates in the top league (around 60). In addition, nothing comes in your way if you’re using this desktop for software stuff – processor and RAM are superior here. If you have the top money it costs, this SkyTech will take gamer far!
