There’s an abundance of affordable desktop computers, but the essential thing is to know which one of them is the best. It is true many people have given positive reviews for this HP ENVY 750-287c rig, indicating it might be worth your money. Here is still one professional opinion about the computer for you…

The good

HP ENVY 750-287c possesses great processing performance thanks to the Intel Core i7-6700 processor. It’s a quad-core unit, offering 3.4GHz clock frequency and 4.0GHz turbo boost for the power hungry folks. In case you’re interested in the details, the chip gets a nice 10000 points in CPU Mark. And when you add the 16GB memory to the mix, software will be tame and smooth. Just keep in mind the memory is already maxed out.

You can access internet with the Gigabit RJ-45 port, and there’s also AC WiFi adapter that supports Bluetooth 4.0.

The neutral

Not necessarily a good or bad thing, HP ENVY 750-287c contains 1TB SATA hard drive (7200PRM). The bright side is the sheer storage size, but worse thing is the performance. Should you want to make this desktop faster, you can put in SSD. The case should at least offer a free 3.5″ slot at your disposal.

The computer has a set of ports to plug in peripherals and devices. In total eight USB ports are included, four are USB 2.0 and four USB 3.0. For video outputs you get two HDMI connectors.

This HP comes with a DVD burner and media card reader (SD and MS and their variants).

As usually, USB keyboard and mouse are included, but you don’t get a monitor with this desktop.

The bad

This probably doesn’t come as a surprise for players, but HP ENVY 750-287c won’t be good for many games. Reason is the integrated Intel HD 530 engine. It’s fast enough to keep decent FPS on old games like World of Warcraft or Team Fortress, but not really if you’re into later Triple A titles. GTA 5 gets alright 30FPS if you keep low settings and resolution, but it’s not ideal, let me tell you. However, there is free PCI-e slot for graphics card, just remember to upgrade the 300W power supply too if installing a heavyweight card!

There are not many reasons to skip HP ENVY 750-287c if you’re after a decent home desktop. The component department is in check, Core i7 processor speeding up the system and terabyte hard drive giving storage for all the files you’re going to use. Just one thing to keep in mind: there is no dedicated graphics, meaning that you definitely want to install one if gaming is your priority. But as it is, the computer is good choice for home and office use!
