So you have Dell Inspiron i3459-5025BLK in mind but not sure if it’s a noteworthy desktop for you? At a glance it looks like a decent one, but they all do, so let’s not draw a final conclusion yet. Below, I will tell you if this All-in-One desktop is worth your money.

What are the main benefits?

Like all the desktops, also Dell Inspiron i3459-5025BLK is no stranger to the most common computer activities (word documents, web surfing etc). It has a 6th generation Intel Core i5-6200U processor in the heart of the system, offering you a dual-core setup and 2.3GHz clock speed with 2.8GHz turbo boost. CPU Mark score is around 3900 which works well for a general use desktop.

Other things in the engine room contributing to performance are the 8GB memory and 1TB hard drive. The former is installed on one 8GB DDR3L (= energy efficient) stick, and there is one free slot for upgrade. The terabyte hard drive is hard to fill up as it can take data equivalent to two hundreds DVS. If you want to install SSD for better performance you need to take out the HDD first as there are no extra bays.

And of course, the All-in-One nature is a great benefit in itself! You don’t need to worry about buying monitor and input devices separately, all of those are included. The 23.8″ touch display sports 1920×1080 (Full HD) resolution, and it’s also IPS panel which means about 180 degree viewing angles. The keyboard and mouse are wireless, so no tangling cords.

Is it a good choice for players too?

Dell Inspiron i3459-5025BLK can be used for most things, gaming might just be one of them. You would need to spend more money for a great gamer’s desktop with dedicated graphics, whereas this Dell AiO has an integrated graphics card called Intel HD 520. Thankfully, it’s one of the better integrated chips, so you can surely do something with it. For example, Grand Theft Auto 5 with normal (low) settings and 1366×768 will give 25-30FPS during gameplay. Less demanding ones like League of Legends and Minecraft will work much better than that.

Which peripherals can be connected?

Dell Inspiron i3459-5025BLK has a laptop-like connectivity, it’s very common for these All-in-Ones. For example, there are only four USB ports – two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 – at your disposal, on the other hand they should be sufficient for about 99% of users.

As a specialty, there is no HDMI output but one HDMI input, which means you can use the screen of this Dell with HDMI-supporting devices, such as your gaming console.

Audio ports are a combo (headphones and/or mic) connector and line-out.

For connecting this desktop to Internet you can use the WiFi adapter (supports dual-band 802.11ac standard and Bluetooth 4.0) or the Gigabit RJ-45 port in the back.

The desktop comes with a 9.5mm DVD burner, put in CDs and DVDs if you want.

Media card reader is available as well, it supports the following formats: SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC.

There are webcam and microphone installed on the computer, the camera supports 1280×720 video resolution.

Other important things you should know

This unit does not run on battery, you need it plugged in to power socket at all times.

Windows 10 Home (64-bit) is the operating system.

Summing it up

Dell Inspiron i3459-5025BLK surely is more expensive than a mere desktop tower, but don’t forget what you’re getting here: a fully functioning computer with a big monitor, keyboard and mouse. The computer will get you through everyday computing without issues, some will even call it a powerhouse because of the i5 processor. You may try some games too but don’t forget there is no dedicated graphics card available. So, if that kind of a setup interests you, consider giving the Dell a try!
