What do you want to know about Dell Inspiron i3168-3272GRY? Whether it’s a laptop worthy your money or not, eh? Well that’s a good question – the computer surely is a cheap one so your wallet won’t get upset, but let’s see if it actually offers you benefits for so affordable price.

I can not say that Dell Inspiron i3168-3272GRY is a powerhouse, but basic level performance is present for sure. There is a quad-core Intel Pentium N3710 processor commanding the system, it offers 1.6Ghz base frequency and 2.6GHz turbo for you. Comparing the Pentium to others, it’s clearly below Core i3s (1800 vs ~2500 CPU Mark score). Nonetheless, for lightweight use it’s all you need. There is also 4GB RAM included and reading the official specifications I can see it can not be upgraded.

Laptop and tablet in the same computer, how handy is that! The compact 11.6″ display has a 360 degree hinge which allows you to use the unit in four modes. Resolution is just 1366×768 so don’t expect Full HD experience here. As usually, a webcam (720p video) is included which lets you to use Skype video or film something for YouTube.

Dell Inspiron i3168-3272GRY works for gaming poorly, very poorly. You won’t get a dedicated graphics engine in this laptop, just Intel HD 405 which is a small chip integrated on the CPU. Games like GTA 5, Far Cry 4 or Fallout 4 won’t run properly here. But lighter titles like Minecraft and World of Warcraft work, at least if you use low settings.

This particular model doesn’t have a solid-state drive, just a 500GB 5400RPM (SATA 3) hard drive. It’s a bad choice for such a convertible laptop because you might hit the unit somewhere, and this kind of hard drive with mechanical parts is prone to shock. Well, just be careful, or you can always replace the drive yourself if you know how!

Some other things and benefits?

This computer does not have a DVD burner but one microSD slot is available.

The included ports are two USB 2.0, one USB 3.0 and one HDMI-out. As you probably guess, this small notebook doesn’t feature RJ-45 but A/C WiFi adapter (with Bluetooth 4.0) is there.

The battery operates on 2 cells and 32Whr, people have been talking about ~7 hours operating time on that.

No backlit keyboard is found on this machine.

Dell Inspiron i3168-3272GRY is one of the most wallet-friendly 2-in-1 laptops of 2016. It works for basic use such as web surfing, paper writing and light multimedia. Gaming is not advised due to lacking graphics performance. The display rotates a full 360 degrees so you will get a tablet in this unit as well. If these are the things that interest you I advice taking a closer look at this Dell!
