All-in-One desktop does not always mean slow performance. Dell Inspiron 24 i5459-4024SLV is an example of quite a snappy AiO – a power user friendly unit at a glance. However, I must say that most computers look good first, but when you examine them more, something else is revealed…

The good

The prominent feature of Dell Inspiron 24 i5459-4024SLV is the display. You will be looking at a 23.8 inches Full HD screen that also supports touch (10-finger one, the default). It offers decent image quality for home activities, and also if you want to navigate Windows 10 using touch, feel free to do so. If you look carefully you will see a webcam in the top bezel.

Processor also sports enjoyable performance, the Intel Core i5-6400T offering 2.2GHz clock speed, 2.8Ghz turbo boost and a quad-core configuration. Now, it’s not really the newest model (late 2015), however don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s slow: in CPU Mark, the average score is around 5350 which should suffice even for power users. The second thing you will probably like in the engine room is 8GB memory, enough for multitasking.

The unit includes wireless mouse and keyboard.

The neutral

Dell Inspiron 24 i5459-4024SLV does not have the best storage drive available. Being a one terabyte 5400RPM hard drive you are going to get a plenty of storage indeed, but performance suffers because it’s a drive with moving parts. Now, if you know something about hardware, you can surely install a solid-state drive on this unit to make it faster!

You’ll get a host of ports: two USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 to hook up some peripherals. There are also both HDMI output and input, so you can connect a secondary monitor or then use this desktop’s own monitor with some device of yours, like gaming console. Network ports include Gigabit LAN and WiFi (A/C standard with Bluetooth).

This computer comes with a DVD burner and 4-in-1 media card reader.

The bad

“All-in-One” in this case doesn’t mean suitability for gaming. A player requires dedicated graphics however Dell Inspiron 24 i5459-4024SLV does not come with any. You will have to do with the integrated one bearing the name Intel HD 530. Do not expect more than 25-30 frames per second if your favorite games are types like Far Cry 4 or Grand Theft Auto 5. But don’t worry if you only play Minecraft or LoL, they will run just fine on this rig.

The best things about Dell Inspiron 24 i5459-4024SLV are its large, beautiful and Full HD supporting screen and the 5th generation Core i5 processor. With those, running software that demands a lot from the system should be a piece of cake. And the big screen means that you shall enjoy videos and other multimedia. Worst thing is the graphics performance, so don’t get the computer for gaming. If this kind of package sounds like your cup of tea, don’t hesitate to take a closer look at this Dell!
