So, another CybertronPC. They have popped up on several merchant’s websites recently. Perhaps people are intrigued by the fact that somebody is selling gaming desktops that don’t cost a lot. In this review, we’ll see if the inexpensive CybertronPC Hellion (Blue) TGM1213B would really be a player’s friend or not…

So, how’s gaming?

There’s indeed a dedicated graphics card in this desktop, and that’s the GeForce GT740 with 2GB memory. It’s a low-end gaming card: the GT740’s score in G3D Mark is 1600 versus GTX960’s 6000 points, but let’s not also forget the price difference. As an example of what you can expect, GTA 5 would give around 40FPS if you kept settings high and resolution 1366×768. Another people’s favorite, League of Legends, will give far more than 60FPS even on full settings and 1080p.

General performance

CybertronPC Hellion (Blue) TGM1213B has a bit unknown processor, the AMD FX-6300. It works on a 3.5GHz clock frequency and the turbo speed is 4.1GHz. There are three physical cores, each containing two logical cores, so one could say this is a six-core processor. Yes, it’s a pretty fast one with CPU Mark score being around 6400. That’s the same that modern Core i5 processors meant for desktops get.

The computer’s memory amount is 16GB. It’s a two 8GB stick setup, and there are two free slots for upgrade. 32GB is the maximum. Bear in mind that going beyond 16GB isn’t going to bring extra performance, if you want that you must do other upgrades.

Now, for storage the desktop offers a terabyte 7200RPM SATA hard drive. It’s good for storing huge files but I can already hear many gamers wanting a solid-state drive. That’s surely possible, there are several free drive bays inside the case (you might need 3.5″ to 2.5″ adapter, though).

What about ports and connections?

I don’t think gamers would run out of ports with CybertronPC Hellion (Blue) TGM1213B. For starters, there are four USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 at your disposal. In addition, there are all the common video outputs: HDMI, VGA and DVI. Using two monitors at the same time is possible.

The audio panel in the back includes microphone, audio out and line in. Connectors for mic and headphones are located in the front as well.

Like a true desktop, this one also sports a 24X DVD burner. However, media card reader is something the computer does not have.

This unit features a WiFi adapter with support for 802.11bgn standard. Of course, a Gigabit RJ-45 port is also available.

Some other things I should know?

CybertronPC Hellion (Blue) TGM1213B comes with a 400W power supply, it should be enough in case you wanted to upgrade the graphics card to a newer model.

Monitor is not included in the price, but keyboard and mouse are.

Operating system is Windows 8.1 (64-bit).

CybertronPC Hellion (Blue) TGM1213B is one of the cheapest gaming desktops, but there’s an obvious reason for this: the graphics card is not a top-notch model. It can run any game for sure, but you’ll have to skimp on eye candy with many heavyweight titles (GTA 5, The Witcher 3 etc.) if you want to get good FPS. If you accept that fact, then nothing is stopping you from choosing this budget desktop for some gaming!
