Be it a gaming laptop or desktop, one thing is for sure: they are not too cheap computers! The components that make modern games run fast cost a lot, unfortunately. CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme (GXI9920Q) is this kind of system with engine room full of pristine stuff, such as the latest GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card. Well, whether the computer is worth it or not, will be discussed in this review!
How good is this for gaming?
The graphics card could not get much better. It’s GeForce GTX 1060, you might already have heard about it. That is the latest product of Nvidia’s, possessing 6GB video RAM and performance that surpasses the previous GTX 970. You can easily use it for gaming in Full HD (or even higher), games such as Fallout 4 and Doom 3 are bound to give frame rates around 60 – and that is with high or even ultra settings. The system has a single PCI-e x16 to which this card is attached.
How about other components inside?
Luckily CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme (GXI9920Q) also comes with a 120GB solid-state drive, with the 1TB SATA 3 7200RPM hard drive only it could be a bit slow. Anyway, you can use the big drive to store all your static files into, and favorite games and such can be put on the SSD. If you remove the case, you get access to drive bays and can replace them if you want.
One of the better processors, the Intel Core i7-6700, is the command center of this system. Offering you four cores, it runs on 3.4GHz clock speed with 4.0GHz turbo boost support. As you might guess, there are no programs such a processor wouldn’t run, Photoshop and video editors are piece of cake for it. If you are interested, the CPU Mark score is an impressive ~10000.
16GB DDR4 memory takes care of everybody’s needs. But if it doesn’t for some reason, the maximum RAM this computer takes is 64GB.
What ports and connections do I get?
A whopping amount, 10, USB ports are included in CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme (GXI9920Q). Six are USB 3.0 while four are USB 2.0. The most common video outputs – DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort – are also offered so you can hook up three monitors simultaneously.
There’s a Gigabit RJ-45 port for networking but unfortunately no WiFi. You can get USB dongle if you want wireless connectivity.
Another thing the laptop doesn’t have is DVD drive – you need to use an external DVD burner if you want to work with discs.
Something else to keep in mind?
Keyboard and mouse are included, but remember that monitor is not. That one you need to buy or get separately.
Operating system isn’t surprise, it’s Windows 10 Home, the 64-bit version.
CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme (GXI9920Q) is a desktop that leaves no gamer unhappy. There is a graphics card that is heavyweight enough to keep all games running fine, and also other components are superior to cheaper computers. Just pair this desktop with a decent monitor and you got yourself an excellent gaming computer for years to come!
