If you’ve been looking for a gaming desktop that’s been assembled for you, CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA570 is one of the choices you should know. It’s a quad-core AMD powered computer with GeForce GTX 960 running the graphics show. Indeed, smooth frame rates could be expected – but is there anything bad about this desktop?

How good for gaming?

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA570 has one of the best graphics engines, the GeForce GTX 960, inside. It features 2GB dedicate video memory. To give you real examples, you will get around 40-50FPS on GTA 5 played on high settings and Full HD resolution. Using ultra settings and Full HD, Battlefield 4 should get over 50 frames per second. Older games like World of Warcraft and Minecraft are no issue, you can use any settings on those.

It looks like the motherboard has one PCI-e x16 slot, so you can surely upgrade the graphics card, but SLI (using two cards at the same time) doesn’t work.

How about performance for software?

The processor is powerful if lesser known AMD FX-8320 with four cores, 3.5GHz clock speed and 4.0GHz turbo boost. It gets a very good score in benchmark tests, for example the popular CPU Mark gives it 8000 points. The AMD processor will plow through any software you use, however keep in mind also energy consumption is great: the TDP is rated at a whopping 125W.

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA570 features 16GB DDR3 memory, a sufficient amount for power users (and gaming). The distribution is two 8GB sticks.

Hard drive offers plenty of space, two terabytes, at the expense of performance, 7200RPM. But don’t despair, there are at least two unoccupied internal drive slots in the case. You can install more units there, even an SSD.

What about ports and connections?

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA570 features a lot of USB ports, eight in total, although all are USB 2.0 – there is no USB 3.0 available. Video connections are HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort, which means that up to three displays can be connected at the same time.

Networking is Ethernet-only, there’s a Gigabit RJ-45 port in the back panel. WiFi (or Bluetooth) are not available, but you can get a simple USB dongle for that or install wireless card inside.

The computer features a DVD burner.

Other features and benefits

The PSU is rated at 600W.

USB keyboard and mouse are included. Monitor is not, you must buy the display, then this is a fully functioning desktop computer.

Windows 10 Home (64-bit) is the operating system.

One of the best things about CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA570 is ease of use: you don’t have to assemble anything yourself, just get it (and a decent monitor) and you’re good to play! Indeed, all the games will run fine, and most of them even when settings and resolution are high. Naturally, this rig can be used for non-gaming stuff such as image or video editing as well, there’s plenty of oomph for that. Considering the price and what you’re getting, I’d say this CyberpowerPC is a good buy.
