If a plug’n’play gaming desktop is what you want, CyberpowerPC could be your go-to brand. Their products are very well priced and extremely liked among the gamers. One of their latest desktops, the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA3120A, has gathered great popularity. There must be a reason for this, let’s try to find out…

So, how good for gaming?

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA3120A contains a dedicated graphics card, the Radeon R7 250 with 2GB video memory. Now, even though it’s dedicated, it’s one of the slowest such cards. GTX 750 and those are much, much faster than this AMD. So in reality, you won’t get excellent gaming performance. Here are examples you can expect:

– Grand Theft Auto 5, 1080p and normal settings, ~30FPS
– The Witcher 3, 720p and low settings, ~40FPS
– Minecraft, fast graphics, ~60FPS
– Team Fortress 2, 1080p and normal/high settings, ~60FPS
– H1Z1, 720p and high settings, ~50FPS

By the way, you can of course upgrade the graphics card. For example GTX970 fits in this machine. SLI is not supported, just one card at a time.

General performance

The processor is AMD FX-4300, a quad-core unit which offers a speedy 3.8GHz clock frequency and 4.0GHz turbo boost. If you’d like to know about benchmarks, the CPU Mark score for this unit is around 4600. Those should be enough for gamers and power users, for example video editing on this rig is possible.

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA3120A comes with 8GB DDR3 RAM installed, but don’t worry you can install more if you really want to. The maximum would be 32 gigabytes on 4 slots on the mainboard.

Storage solution isn’t anything special, it’s a 1TB 7200RPM hard drive. If you can do with its performance you’re all good – storage space itself is top-notch and you’ll never run out of it. However, there are free slots for extra drives, so put in SSD if you want to.

Ports and connections it offers?

Unfortunately CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA3120A doesn’t have WiFi card or adapter. So if you want wireless networking you need to buy such a card/adapter yourself and install it. Of course a Gigabit RJ-45 port for cable is available.

There are seven USB ports which should be enough, but sadly all of them are USB 2.0. There’s no USB 3.0 on this rig at all.

Video outputs are VGA, DVI and HDMI. Most people need just one connector, but you can surely use three monitors simultaneously with this computer.

Miscellaneous yet important stuff

People have received different power supplies with this computer. Some got 350W, some got 500W. So it’s hard to say which one yours will be.

Included are wired keyboard and mouse. Monitor you must however buy yourself.

Operating system is Windows 10 Home 64-bit.

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA3120A is an inexpensive gaming desktop, and those two words rarely go well together. However, in this case, affordability and gaming performance can be found in the same package. The AMD R7 250 is a low end card yes, but if you can drop settings on many games everything will be fine. So in essence, should you be on budget but still want to enjoy gaming, going for this CyberpowerPC would be something to think about.
