A gaming desktop that is built for you is surely convenient. You don’t need to assemble anything yourself. On the other hand, such an item could be overpriced. That’s exactly why we’ll take a look at CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Supreme Liquid Cool SLC8300A and determine if it’s a good choice for an avid gamer or not…
There’s the new nVidia’s flagship, the GeForce GTX 1070, inside. Having been released in the late spring of 2016, it’s not old at all. In fact, the GTX 1070 is a lot better than old high-end models such as GTX 970 and 980 – you’ll be getting a smooth ride with all games you will play. For example, using Full HD and ultra settings the heavyweight Witcher 3 is bound to get ~60 frames per second. Other demanding titles such as GTA 5 and Fallout 4 will get the same or more than that. In addition, there are no worries with switching on another resolution, such as Quad HD (2560×1440) here.
Of course nothing is stopping you from using CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Supreme Liquid Cool SLC8300A for software work. There’s an interesting processor in it, the Skylake-based, quad-core Intel Core Intel i7-6700K. It’s one of the pinnacles in processor world, offering 4.0GHz clock speed (and 4.2GHz turbo) for the benefit of power users. A hefty CPU Mark score is guaranteed too, around 11000 points, which surely beats almost every other processor currently in the market.
The desktop uses DDR4 memory, and there’s 32GB of that installed. Multitasking will be a piece of cake, you can even run Photoshop and your games at the same time. As expected, the storage section is wonderful as well, as it contains a whopping 3TB 7200RPM hard drive plus 240GB solid-state drive. My tip is to install your dearest things, such as games, on the SSD – that way they will load and run as fast as possible.
Ports and connections
There are a plethora of ports in CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Supreme Liquid Cool SLC8300A because you probably want to plug in several peripherals or devices. That is possible thanks to the four USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports in the unit. You’re also good to connect several monitors at the same time, there are HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort available for that.
Unfortunately, the computer doesn’t have a WiFi card – you need to buy one if you want wireless connectivity. However, Gigabit RJ-45 port is there so using cable to connect to Internet works.
Remember that there is no optical drive in this machine! So, if it’s CDs and DVDs you want to use you’ll need to get an external drive (luckily they cost like 20 bucks!)
Keyboard and mouse are included as always, but monitor is not.
The operating system is Windows 10 Home (64-bit).
There’s hardly any desktop that is better than CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Supreme Liquid Cool SLC8300A for gaming. No matter what game you throw at it, frame rates will remain high and your sessions enjoyable. Naturally, the same goes for any type of software: this bit cruncher takes care of your programs. But the dark side is the price: you can probably build a similar computer yourself and save money. Yet, if you don’t want to do that, if you want a gaming desktop right away, this CyberpowerPC should be worth it!
