There is one thing about gaming desktops that is painfully true. To find a decent one you’ll often need to have deep pockets. It’s computers like CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Panzer PVP3000LQ that cost a lot of money – they are filled with top-notch components ready to propel your games to fantastic frame rates and beautiful graphics. But how is the case with this particular unit, is it really fast enough?

The gaming aspect

Being a gaming desktop, and an expensive one, CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Panzer PVP3000LQ includes the best graphics card money can get you: the GeForce GTX1080 with 8GB dedicated video RAM. You can use it without issues for all the games there currently are (and the upcoming ones too). Check out these examples, they’re 2560×1440 resolution and ultra settings:

– The Witcher 3, ~90FPS
– Doom, ~90FPS
– Battlefield 4, ~100FPS
– GTA 5, ~90FPS

So, all an avid gamer could ask for! The system is also VR ready, however keep in mind the motherboard does not support SLI.

General performance

There are two storage drives in CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Panzer PVP3000LQ, one 2TB 7200RPM hard drive and then 240GB SATA SSD. The good thing is, operating system (Windows 10 Home) is installed on the solid-state drive, giving you extra performance and quick boot-up times.

Processor is cream of the crop, the Intel Core i7-6700K. The four-core bitcruncher’s clock frequency starts at 4.0GHz and increases slightly to 4.2GHz with turbo. Indeed, just a handful of processors are faster than the i7-6700K, it getting over 11000 points in CPU Mark. The i7 is fantastic for hardcore gaming and power users.

The system comes with 32GB RAM DDR4 (2x16GB). It’s clocked at 3000MHz, contributing to fast performance. On the motherboard there are four slots and the maximum memory is 64 gigabytes.

Ports and connections

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Panzer PVP3000LQ has plenty of ports to offer. The eight USB 3.0 ports can be used to hooking up input devices, drives and such. The graphics card holds one DVI, one HDMI and two DisplayPort connectors. Up to three monitors can be connected simultaneously.

The sound side of things is good, this system supports 7.1 audio.

Remember the desktop is also lacking something: there’s no DVD burner. You can use an external drive if your need for DVDs is huge.

There’s a Gigabit RJ-45 port in the back for networking. Wireless isn’t unfortunately available, but you can get USB WiFi dongle to help.

What other interesting features and benefits?

The computer comes with a 650W power supply.

Wired mouse and keyboard are shipped with this unit, monitor isn’t.

Verdict

There is one thing CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Panzer PVP3000LQ can do better than most desktops, and that is gaming. The GTX1080 card with i7 processor and SSD is so darn fast combination that any game, new or old, will run smooth with maximum settings on. Naturally, for everything software related this desktop is a winner too. DVD drive and WiFi are not included, but that’s a small blunder and you can buy them separately. So in essence, you have a good reason to get this beast if the best gaming performance is your top priority!
