A proper gaming desktop can take gamer far. I mean, smooth frame rates and high resolutions is all you care about, right? It might be that ASUS G11CD-DB71 is the right tool for you – it promises great graphics performance with the dedicated GeForce graphics. Also the high price suggests this desktop might be onto something, but let’s examine first, judge second…

How good for gaming?

It is true that the GeForce GTX 970 (4GB) is not the latest graphics card anymore, but I’d be fool not to call it a high-end engine still. All the games there currently exist this card can run smooth and clean. And if you’re interested about the frame rates, let me tell you that getting over sixty FPS on any game is possible – including demanding Witcher 3 or GTA 5.

By the way, you can replace the graphics engine if you want to, it’s installed on PCI-e x16 slot. For example, GTX980 fits in this computer well.

Other components in the engine room?

ASUS G11CD-DB71 has a sweet processor, the Intel Core i7-6700 of four cores and 3.4GHz clock speed (even 4.0GHz turbo). It’s a real bit cruncher, a power user’s friend, with its ca. 10000 points in CPU Mark. Even if you are doing some ridiculously demanding activity, like video editing, this processor can handle such tasks.

Nothing will come on your way with the 16GB DDR4 RAM installed, and if you want to, the memory can be upgraded all the way to 32 gigabytes.

Storage drive is not very strong point of this, it being just a 1 terabyte 7200RPM SATA hard drive. Well, there are free drive bays inside the case if you want to install a solid-state drive (which could be a smart move, it makes the computer much much faster!).

What ports and connections are included?

On the graphics card, there are HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort connectors for you, so you’re good to hook up at least three monitors simultaneously to those. And for peripherals the computer offers ten USB ports, four are USB 2.0 and six are USB 3.0.

Gigabit RJ-45 port is provided as well as WiFi adapter that supports Bluetooth 4.0 and A/C WiFi standard.

Surely ASUS G11CD-DB71 comes with a DVD burner, and there also seems to be media card reader for SD, MS and MMC formats.

Other important things to keep in mind?

There are keyboard and mouse shipped with the desktop, but monitor is not. So get a decent display for it by yourself!

The PSU wattage is 500W.

ASUS G11CD-DB71 is the real deal if you’re looking for a great gaming companion that doesn’t cost an arm and leg. There’s a lot the GeForce GTX 970 graphics card can do, especially if you’re not planning to dive into higher than Full HD gaming – at 1080p, frame rates will be smooth. Other activities will be effortless too, after all there’s a Core i7 processor powering the system. So don’t be afraid to get this ASUS if you want quality!
