Many times, people prefer to assemble their gaming desktops themselves, but what if you don’t want to bother with that? In that case, a brand desktop like Acer Predator AG6-710-70002 might be a good idea. It includes all the essential components for a gamer: 6th generation Intel processor, solid-state drive and a fast dedicated graphics card. Let me tell you more about the desktop below…

Is it good for gaming?

The most important thing for a gamer, the graphics card, is excellent in this Acer. It’s the GeForce GTX980 with 4GB of its own memory. That card is a true high-end unit, certainly enough to keep Full HD and ultra settings on most, if not all, games. For example, on such settings with GTA 5 you’re getting around 60FPS. Similar set-up on The Witcher 3 guarantees 45-50 frames per second.

General performance

Another good thing in Acer Predator AG6-710-70002 is the processor, Intel Core i7-6700K. It’s a quad-core beast with 4.0GHz clock speed and 4.2GHz turbo, with CPU Mark giving it over 11000 points in the benchmark. It’s really a top-notch processor, just a handful of CPUs would beat that score. In short, the i7-6700K won’t ever become a bottleneck.

The desktop includes 16GB DDR4 memory, that is the perfect amount for serious gamers and power users. The distribution is two 8GB chips, which still leaves two slots unoccupied. Since the system supports DDR4 RAM, it’s possible to upgrade the memory to 64 gigabytes here!

Storage drive section is great, there are actually two separate drives inside: a 7200RPM SATA 3 hard drive with 2TB storage and 256GB solid-state drive. Thus you have the opportunity to install very, very large files on the hard drive part and those programs and games you want to load up quickly on the SSD.

What ports and connections does it have?

You should find sufficient ports for your peripherals, for example six USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 connectors are at your disposal. For video outputs you’ll get all the usual: HDMI, 3 DP and DVI. Thus, plugging in two (or four maximum) monitors simultaneously would be possible with Acer Predator AG6-710-70002.

Networking connectivity is something to be proud of, there’s a Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45) port for cables and a speedy & long-range 802.11ac WiFi card that also works with Bluetooth 4.0.

DVD burners are pretty much a standard in desktops, but this one has even a better drive: Blu-Ray/DVD combo burner. Also SD cards are accepted, there’s a slot for them in the front panel.

Other things to keep in mind?

It’s a pricey desktop, yet there is no monitor included. Gaming keyboard and mouse however are.

The power supply is rated at a whopping 730W, so if you install extra drives or a newer graphics card it should work without issues.

Acer Predator AG6-710-70002 is everything a gamer needs: top frame rates on every game without the fear of lag. Also any program and software would run smooth and clean, even virtualization environments and other hardcore stuff. But one thing is bad here, and that’s the price: this desktop is ridiculously expensive. However, for what it offers the price can be somewhat justified, and if you don’t want to (or can’t) build a gaming rig yourself, choosing this kind of Acer should put smile on a player’s face.
