Psst... Click image for the best price on!

It’s one of the cheapest laptops we’re looking at here. Acer Aspire E 15 (E5-575-33BM) indeed won’t put a strain on your wallet, which naturally makes it interesting to many. But, does the low price also mean there’s something wrong with it? Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t, and we’re here to find that out!

The good

Acer Aspire E 15 (E5-575-33BM) has the latest processor, Intel Core i3-7100U. Yep, it belongs to the 7th generation! The core amount is still two and clock rate is 2.4GHz (without turbo boost). There are no benchmarks about it yet, but rest assured it should perform tad better than older Core i3s, so even some heavier work can be done on this laptop.

The 15.6″ screen doesn’t support touch but it has 1920×1080 maximum resolution. That’s nice feature, especially when you’re paying only pennies for this notebook. And as you can see from the photos, there’s also a 1280×720 webcam embedded on top, so Skype video chats and shooting YouTube videos are possible here.

The keyboard is backlit, excellent for this price.

The neutral

The memory amount is average 4GB, however it’s the fast DDR4 type. In addition, the maximum RAM is 32GB on two 16GB sticks, so if you can afford the memory upgrade you’ll never run out of RAM here.

I’m not going to give any extra points to the storage drive of Acer Aspire E 15 (E5-575-33BM). It’s a 1 TB hard drive with 5400RPM spindle speed. In this era, solid-state drive is often appreciated. But there’s M.2 SATA slot for upgrade, and in addition, you can always remove the HDD and put 2.5″ SSD in place.

The number of USB ports is four: one USB 3.1 Type-C, two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0. The video output is HDMI, you can hook up a monitor to that.

There are two ways to get Internet access: Gigabit Ethernet port and the 802.11ac dual-band supporting WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 card.

You’ll get a 8X DVD burner and SD card slot with this laptop.

Unfortunately the 6-cell battery is a non-removable one (half of the notebook must be disassembled to get to the battery). But it will still last around 7 hours for lightweight tasks, so almost a full day.

The bad

Acer Aspire E 15 (E5-575-33BM) has a new graphics engine, the Intel HD 620. But even though it’s new, there’s still one thing that makes it undesirable for the gamers: the HD 620 is an integrated unit! So, don’t expect games like The Witcher 3 or Doom run great here. You might get away with GTA 5 on low settings, and games such as Team Fortress and Sims series run without issues.

Even though Acer Aspire E 15 (E5-575-33BM) is cheap, there’s nothing big wrong about it. Surely the processor isn’t Core i7, however it’s still a 7th generation Core i3 (a very new one!) and there’s Full HD display giving something for the movie enthusiasts. So, because the laptop is so affordable I can unconditionally recommend it for you!
